Does the standard installer load up while we are in enduro mode or do we need to get the offline installer?

I'm actually waiting for other people to try it first haha, but just put it in non-enduro mode I guess, and firstly remove the driver. Then install the new one and restart?

It's recommended that AMD drivers be installed with Enduro OFF.

Don't need to remove any drivers, plug and play. Create restore point first.

These caused little black squares to appear in the distance in Borderlands 2 so I rolled back to 12.8.

So, people.... How is the driver? Any improvements in games, dramatic fps increases? I don't really care about the enduro issue for now, since I have enduro turned off. Once we get the proper drivers next month, then it'll be fine.

I'm backing up my system now (as I typically do whenever I plan to do an GPU driver update) and then will see how it goes.

So far so good, seems to be crashing War of the Roses on my desktop though. This has been stable, however. I'll check out how Enduro works here in a couple hours.

I can confirm 12.9 Beta driver works fine with M17x R3 AMD HD6990M card. NO BSOD when you try to install the driver. Basically this is the smoothest driver install after I brought this notebook. (Overwrite the old 12.6 driver, didn't try to uninstall it)

Still not checked Enduro working or not but BF3/ BFBC2/ Skyrim/ AC Series works fine.

BF3 with Enduro on worked correctly, but I only went through the first little bit. Are there specific games or levels that people would like checked? If I have it, I'll check it.

I thought Enduro works fine if the user creates a custom profile for each game?

I ran it a bit hoping for improved Enduro performance but I'm not sure I got it. I based it on Diablo 3 a bit. With Enduro on it was 60-85FPS. With Enduro off it was 90 to 110FPS. This was all settings maxed out. On the other hand the 3dmark11 and 3dmark vantage benchmarks were very close to each other. Diablo 3 was set on high performance (had to be -- it was 15FPS on the Intel card. :p)

Here are the benches with those apps for comparison. Enduro on and off. All stock speeds. Oddly the one 3DMark2011 bench didn't pickup CPU or Ram information. Not sure why. Maybe SystemMark crashed. I won't run anymore benches on this as I've gone back to 12.8 via system restore now.

    Enduro On
    3DMark2011: P5891
    3DMark Vantage: P22371

    Enduro Off
    3DMark2011: P5928
    3DMark Vantage: P23623

Thanks for the link. It installed right over top of 12.6 with no hiccups on my 6990m.

Been running it for a few days now. No blue screen on installation, everything went smooth. Clocks are running fine (downclocking as appropriate), no funny fan problems and my 3dmarks are consistent (not necessarily better or worse) as with any other AMD driver.

So I can say that the driver definitely has been stable, and everything has been running fine. I haven't had the sudden shutdowns I was seeing in Guild Wars 2, but I haven't had much time to play it recently, so I don't know if it's "fixed" or I just haven't hit it again.

Otherwise, WoW is running great, played some Trine 2 with it. Haven't pushed it with Witcher 2 or Crysis 2 yet (only because I haven't had time to play), but everything so far seems to be running just fine.

Re-installed the driver on top of itself and it just works... I'd like to understand the actual reason why that would work.

Any of you running Windows 8? I got everything to install okay but there are times when I start the computer that the screen flashes on and off. When it flashes on, I have the mouse pointer icon and it moves with mouse movement but the rest of the screen is black. If I let it sit and do this for a while it eventually comes to the start screen and says that it cannot find the AMD driver. I have to run this dedicated mode for it to work.

Anyone else have that problem or running Win8 they can test it?

Try THIS method, working fine for me. Then you can even install these 9.001 over them.

I uninstalled the stock Dell AMD drivers through their uninstaller, then installed this version. Everything seems to work well so far, except when I Fn+F7 to switch to integrated mode, the intel drivers aren't installed. Did this happen to anyone else?

The beta driver is a first in a series that separates the intel drivers from the amd drivers. It will probably be like how nvidia has it going forward. Install intel first then install AMD.

If I already installed the new driver, can I just switch to integrated mode and install the intel drivers right now? Or do I have to uninstall everything and start over?

I don't know as I've never tried to before. I had installed newer drivers on top of the Dell 12.6 pack. You could try to install the Intel drivers on top but I'd create a system restore point first so you have a place to go back in case it goes south.

Sorry, one last question... in what mode should I install the intel and AMD drivers in? Switchable or dedicated? And which intel driver should I use?
Sorry for the newbie questions, this is the last one I swear :D
