tried to revert to the old driver provided by AW on the original CD, as i wanted to see if new 11.6 was causing stutters in SC2, and for some reason now, my resolution is locked at 1024x768 and when i try to open CCC i get error message "could not load file or assembly 'CLI.implementation' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified"...

:/ attemped system restore to the 15th (when i got it) but for some reason it never reverted??

    alright, nevermind.
seems it never actually went into the system restore. for some reason even though when i clicked in alienrespawn to get to the restore boot -- it never actually booted to it, it just restarted... so i restarted, pressed F8, and manually went to the restore, and got my system back up and running, just like when i started it up on the 15th.

    so here's an updated question.
How do i ensure that i Always have the original factory image as my computer is now (eg as from factory)? i dont want it to automatically start making images of bad back-ups and erase the original factory setup, since i will eventually find it easier to come back to day 1 working build and start over than i will from a build that could possibly have some possible minor conflicts in it...

just thinking worst case scenario here, where i dont have the option to re-install for whatever reason. plus with the switchable graphics, i dont even know how a full reinstall with the AW provided DVD would work? has anyone done this yet? i'm not THAT concerned about switchable graphics. honestly, i havent used it yet, and i dont ever plan on using this thing on battery for more than an hour for basic stuff. like pulling schematics up while in my garage and still being able to move it from place to place...

and after lookin further into it, it seems that the "emergency backup" somehow, didnt backup about 50% of the stuff i selected. i'm missing pretty much all of my pictures (about 2 years worth) and i tried backing up all the games i downloaded from steam as it would be faster just to recopy everything into the folder and then verifiy the integrity of said games, than to redownload them at 56k speeds...

ugh... i need an external harddrive. lol. the good news is it seemed to keep some of the most all important text documents....

seems it killed my 8gb USB hard-drive too (was crappy anyways)
