    Change to a blu-ray drive R3

    Hey! I know the R3(R2 and R1 too) must use a slot in drive to work. Should it be possible to use the BC-5640H | Sony Optiarc ? I want to upgrade the drive in my R3 to a bluray drive so i can watch my BR movies. It costs about 165 us dollars.

    As long is a sloat loading drive it should work. Probably if it has some kind of casing on front, you will have to remove it as the one inside the R1, R2 and R3 are completely opened...

    The only Blu-Ray Burner (and the one I installed) is the Panasonic UJ-235A

    ^That is the Blu Ray burner which Dell provides as well.

    Dell's drive is a locked version which doesnt work with DVD-RAM's if I recall correctly. Either way it isnt offered on the M17x at present.
