    Hey Guys,
    Every night when my laptop is plugged into the charger, I'll get a popup that says "Please connect supported AC Adapter...," and the LED light ring on the connector goes out. The laptop will stay on AC power, but the battery won't charge. If i unplug the charger from my surge protector, and plug it back in, i goes back to working as normal. Any ideas? Do I just need another new charger? Thanks in advanced,

    :D

    I had that happen to me too a couple times last week. Are you using throttlestop or doing some overclocking? I assumed that I was overloading my charger so I turned off all BIOS overclock and stopped using throttlestop and the problem seems to have went away. I played many hours of games over the weekend and never had a single charger problem again.

    Anyone else have this problem? The blue ring at computer end no longer lights up, and doesn't charge my computer anymore. Anyone know if this is covered by Dell warranty?

    All of my dell chargers have always had problems and stopped working after a few months. I get them replaced all the time, and the chargers are covered by your warranty.

    @dajohu
    I'm not OC'ing my system at all, so I dont think it's that.

    and finally XD
    @BatBoy
    Thanks for the help, I figured it was a PSU issue I just wanted to check first.

    I Appreciate the help peeps, thanks :D

    The issue fixed in the X33 bios was with AC adapter PSID detection. This corrected the following -
    * error message at POST stating invalid adapter detected
    * error message please plug in supported AC adapter
    * battery not charging
    * power supply turning off

    * The M17x-R2 should be plugged into the AC adapter
    * Go here to get the M17xX33bios.zip file
    http://pages.suddenlink.net/downloaddell/M17xX33bios.zip
    * Download the zip file to your desktop
    * Unzip it into its own folder
    * Open the folder and then open the X33 folder and run W851X33.EXE

    Say what you will about Dell, but I have my replacement power brick already. Very happy with customer support.
