Hi everybody,
My M17xR1 was getting slower, less responsive, etc. since 2 months.
Having time to tweak it, I decided to Clean Install Windows 7 and it is not working well for me![]()
I format my Partition C: and start from there... oh Boy!
After installing Windows and downloading/installing security patches, I'm starting to have problem...
so I try to install different drivers (Nvidia Graphic card, wireless card, etc.)
When I install Nvidia drivers, when I restart the laptop, the wireless doesn`t work anymore...
Ok, now, feeling ashamed, I humbly ask what should I do... Is there an order to install the drivers?
Do I upgrade the drivers using dell website (last version of drivers?).
I cannot use Alienrespawn... not there anymore...
Is the Alienware Command Center important? should I install it?
Many thanks

A useful thread for you:

For your wireless problem you have two options (choose one of them):
- Click the Start button, and then point to Settings, Control Panel, and then click Device Manager.
- Click the plus sign next to Network Adapters, and then click NVIDIA nforce 10/100/1000 mbps ethernet adapter.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Click Device sleep on disconnect, and then change the value to Disabled.
- Click OK.
- Uninstall the NVIDIA Ethernet driver by clicking the Start button, pointing to Settings, Control Panel, and then clicking Programs and Features.
- Select NVIDIA Drivers and double click.
- When the Removed NVIDIA Components window displays, click the radio button next to Remove only the following.
- Check the box next to NVIDIA Ethernet Diver Components.
- Click Remove.
- Restart the computer

I was wondering, which option is recommanded? deleting nvidia ethernet driver or keeping it?
also, I can`t seem to find the Device sleep on disconnect option... I have access to Device Manager and the Nvidia nforce.... but when I click on the advance option, the only thing that appears is the nvidia logo with Nvidia Ethernet configuration button
When I click on this button, it brings me to the Nvidia control panel -

Just uninstall them thru Control Panel, second option in my post and you should be fine.
Clean install...
