    After a long search i can now buy a gtx 980m kit for clevo p750dm in india without need of importing from abroad with 1 year warranty for cost of 62000 INR APPROX 920 USD...It includes heatsink for clevo xbrackets and thermal pads
    In india clevo are sold as azom laptops
    it has 1 year warranty also but warranty aint covered if it is incompatible with my alienware 17 ranger...they accept no returns if it is incompatible
    So my big question will it work in my alienware 17 ranger ? currently with a gtx 765m...i can get 100w heatsink and 330w charger from dell india

    Still you will need an X-bracket. Other than that you got everything covered.

    Don't forget no W7 without Optimus.

    CLEVO and AW X-brackets use different screws, so make sure they send the screws for the corresponding bracket cuz you can't use yours.

    And yes W10 can be run in dedicated mode.

    I am not familiar with GTX765, but when you get the card you can check if it matches but most probably it won't.

    And as far as my machine goes, you can use any Nvidia driver you like.

    Interestingly enough I never got to overclock my GTX980m and actually I am running it heavily undervolted at 0.981V.

    Don't tempt me. :D

    Yes I am running 120Hz so no optimus for me, brother @Ashtrix I believe used W10 with 60Hz and no optimus.

    @brajesh143 ,

    You can use the Clevo 980M it works perfectly we all AW17 users are using that There are 2 other options aslo but didn't get a chance to run them or see a person here running those (MSI / Dell 980Ms also exist).

    Next is yes as brother Dewy said you need other screws for setting it up, I also use different screws for my existing setup, Also remember the heatsink is a tight fit with the Clevo X brace compatible screws just 1 rotation would be enough.

    Coming to GPU upgrade this post should help you with most - It's a cheatsheet ;) :cool:, TL;DR - Using 60Hz with 980M is not biggie just install the driver in the PEG mode and you are good to use the dedicated mode only with both Win8.1 and 10 while on 7 you only should stay on Optimus (Recommended - All Drivers either PEG or Optimus must be installed which are modified by brother J95 from T|I)

    P.S - That price tag for 980M is too much why don't you try to ask @woodzstack instead for Shipping to India with better price maybe he could help you, He also provides support via PM and his cards are quality tested, Plus a bit of extra icing on the cake if you are an NBR user.

    Set legacy boot off and boot off of UEFI if you were on legacy boot anyway, pop the card in and voila it is over :D

    You will find a super detailed guide on this subforum
