    Hi friends.
Recently i've discover a annoying click on the space bar, when i hit it on the left side it does a click but dont happen in the center or right side, also, if i swipe my finger from right to left, almost ending the track it does the click, anyone have experienced this before, should i order a tech visit or keyboard replacement?, is really annoying, i've also tried to unmmount it but i didn't see nothing wrong, i though it was something stuck, but nothing there.

Edited: I've realized than there is a thread wich is about the same ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-m17x/520096-squeaky-spacebar-button.html), almost, sorry, if you have to close this, go ahead and thank you

means you either spilt something or something got underneath the bar. Cause it doesn't happen on any of my Alienwares.

Yea that would get annoying, I have an annoying key problem with the left arrow and even though I dont use it It still bothers me. Can I ask how you "unmounted" it? Do you mean you took the key itself off?

    Hey there buddy,

I wouldn't really recommend taking off the keyboard keys individually. I tried doing that once and could never put the key back on properly. Unless others know how or a better way I would recommend ringing up dell and telling them about your issue. Be firm and clear about it so that they will send out a new replacement keyboard. Be sure to let them know that the "space bar" key is very important to you and that you use it on a regular basis. Also that you have tested other keyboards in stores and your friends keyboards and they do not do what yours does. If you have to push it that far that is. For example my space bar key is fine and working very normal. Good Luck!

Happy Easter guys. + ANZAC DAY to the others!

    Cheers. :)

    No worries. Good Luck buddy.

Also I just wanted to let you and others know if they don't already.
I make use of these keyboard covers that are great for keeping the keyboard clean and they are also like a gun silencer. It makes super fast typing on the M17x's keyboards even quieter.

They are also dirt cheap and I purchase them like once every 6 months or so just to get that new feeling again lol. + I have had a couple of times where there are holes put through the WASD keys LOL. From overuse. ;)

Keyboard Skin Cover for DELL XPS M1720 M1730 1730 1720 (eBay item 190516199183 end time 24-May-11 19:37:22 AEST) : Computers Networking
I purchase 3 of the above yesterday. I know it doesn't say it is specifically for the M17x however it fits even better than it does on the M1730 or Inspiron 1720's. I have tried it on both of those notebooks in the past and they don't fit as well as they do on the Alienware M17x R1 and R2 keyboards. Not to sure about R3 Keyboards. If they are same layout then it should work fine for it as well.

I have probably purchased and used close to 20 of these keyboard covers in my time. They work a treat. Just though I would share if others weren't already aware of them. The keyboard lights also still come though great with the cover on.

    Cheers. :)
