    Closing Lid without turning off the pc

    Is there a way to be able to close the lid on my m17x without turning off the computer?

    Yep, Power Options in Control Panel. Change the option stating what happens when you close the lid

    Go to power option
    Select "Choose what closing the lid does"
    Change the option in " When I close the lid"
    1.Do Nothing 2.Sleep 3. Shut down..
    Select Do nothing!
    Thats all!

    Control Panel>System and Security>Power Options

    Select "Choose what closing the lid does"

    OR

    Just type "lid" in the searchbox. Pops right up.

    Oops. Looks like I was slow on the reply.

    yes, here is how:

    1. grab lid with pointer finger and thumb (Left handed if applicable)
    2. depress thumb and pointer finder in a pinching motion
    3. slowly pull down towards palm rest
    4. ???
    5. Profit

    jk... as people above said, power options :)
