I currently have 3D m17x R3. It is being replaced. Since there has been some great news from AMD, I am seriously considering altering my specification to a non 3D machine.

The only thing that I am considering right now before I make a final decision is about the difference in terms of brightness. How bad or good is the Non 3D HD display compared to 3D. Is it crisp and bright. Are the colors vivid and as good? Kindly help me make a final decision. Thank You.

There is no difference in colour reproduction. It is about one or two stops on the brightness control brighter.

You mean the Non 3D is brighter? Or the reverse...?

No sorry the 3D is brighter to compensate for the dark glasses.
