    Whats the difference between Alienware MX17x and MX17 R3?

    First of all there is no such thing as MX17x and MX17 R3.
    To this date there are three Dell releases of a 17" Alienware:

    Alienware M17x - this model had the Core2 Duo/Quad CPUs and MXM 3.0 type B graphic cards, unlike the pre Dell 17" Alienware models.

    Alienware M17x R2 - this one came with the first gen i core CPUs

    Alienware M17x R3 - he is the latest release, with 2nd generation of i core CPUs.


    The M17x and M17x R2 are dual video cards capable systems (SLi and crossfire), have aluminium bodies and 16:10 screen ratio.

    ^ What he said. The M17x R3 is a single GPU only system with the 2nd gen core-i Sandy Bridge CPUs.
