    Hi all,

I am looking to buy a M17X configured as below. My plan is to open my laptop and play, meaning I will not be adjusting or performing any modifications to the laptop at all. The main reason I am buying this is for WOW Cataclysm, I really don't play any other games. I am not very tech savy so I want to ask a few questions before I order and would like some advice from anyone that can help.

    1. Is the 920XM really worth the money over a 720QM? How big if any will there be in FPS in WOW? This is a $720 option from where i'm ordering.

    2. Should I bother with CF 5870's or will a single 5870 be more than enough for my use?

    Processor Intel® Core™ i7 920XM 2.0GHz (3.2GHz Turbo Mode, 8MB Cache)
    Memory 8GB Dual Channel Memory (2x 4GB DDR3)
    Display Panels 17-inch WideUXGA 1920 x 1200 RGB LED (1200p)
    Video Card 1GB GDDR5 ATI Radeon™ Mobility HD 5870
    Hard Drive 1TB Raid 0 (2x 500GB 7,200RPM HDDs)
Total Price is going to be $2600 out the door as configured

Keep the CPU and get the crossfire GPU, keep the RAM but get lower drives then buy 2x solid states off the internet at places like ebuyer...You will save pounds doing this...Apart from that you are good to go.....BTW you dont need to be tech savvy to change out your Hard dives

How on earth can you get that set up for $2600? I'd instantly buy two.

EDIT: saw it only has one 5870, but still sick price nontheless. Mind sharing how?

Thank ya'll for the quick reply. Gintor, if i was to order it with a 500gb HDD from dell, and then get a SSD from Newegg and install that myself, would I just load WOW onto the SSD? Would that increase the performance and load times of the game, or does my operating system need to be installed on the SSD as well?

Anodize, im in the military and we have a website called AAFES where everything is tax free and ships for free, plus we get the EPP discount which is 20% off right now. They have a Dell outlet store on there where I confiured this at. Also, if you get a Military Star card your entire first day's purchase is 10% off. I just need to make sure it will apply to this, but from what I have read it shouldn't be a problem.

Oles cheifs. Install the OS and WOW + everything you want to be fast on the SSD. So mostly all your games and stuff. Everything else can just go on the 500gb for storage and so on.

    Cheers. :)

SSDs will decrease both your load times and you boot times drastically (meaning it will go faster ;-) ). If you REALLY dont want to open the laptop then see if you can configure it to have the SSDs already installed. Gintor is right you save money getting it from Newegg, but with all those discounts I would double check the prices. DELL may actually be close enough in price where having them test and install the SSDs might be good value.

We also say to have 2x 5870s in Crossfire because even if WOW is not needing it that badly, other games will in the near future. But if it is just WOW, you wont need the second card.
