I recently got an R1 ranger to replace my defective R4 and after a clean install of windows 8 on the machine It seems that i might have missed a driver, but i'm not sure. Under device manager in the other devices section I have a yellow exclamation mark for Ethernet controller where it says:
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
There are no compatible drivers for this device.
I tried the update driver but it couldn't find anything. I've also been experiencing some WiFi connectivity issues, sometimes web pages won't load even though i'm connected to my wifi, after disconnecting and reconnecting the connection on my computer the web pages load but I'm thinking of having some driver issues?

What wifi card do you have? Is it Intel 7260ac?
Also is it this driver for ethernet?

For 7260ac, you need to turn off some setting in your router.. Also make sure you have the latest Intel wifi driver from their website!

I see, thanks for the advice. unfortunately I haven't found a way to solve this.
I also have another questions, I have my R1 plugged to an external monitor and have the laptops lid closed since I rather have it closed then opened with a blank screen, but my question is should this effect the laptop is anyway? having the closed shouldn't increase temps or anything like that. -
As for the lid closed, temps will go up slightly as some air is sucked in from the keyboard area I believe however its not a problem..
