Hello all,
I'm considering the M17xR3 to replace a laptop that got stolen. If you purchased a M17xR3 recently how reliable has it been? That have you had any crashes or other major software or operating system issues? I will need to use it for software development so I need something that doesn't crash (BSOD) when developing. Some of the user reports I've seen seem to indicate crashes happen but I'm not sure if these are happening on just defective laptops or if this is a model-wide issue.
The other laptop I am considering, a Dell Precision M6600, is known for it's stability but it doesn't have the new i7-2x60 cpu's available yet and I need to order a laptop very soon.
Thanks,
-Ray

Remember the issues you see here are from the 10's of thousands sold every week. If their was a system wide problem it would be posted all over the forums. Of all the systems I have purchased I would say they are better than the other companies or I would buy from them.

No stability issues here, even with overclocks and aftermarket upgrades.

It's been about 6months now. Everything's good as new. (Perhaps even better than when it was new).

All clear here and I use my system daily and carry it around daily. Works perfect.

Nada, works perfect.

My first one was randomly rebooting and Dell support couldn't figure out how to fix the problem so they sent me a brand new one that works great. They attributed the issue to a bad batch of motherboards. More than likely that issue is cleared by now.
Even with my issue and the frustrations I had with support, I would still recommend a purchase. -

No real big software or hardware problems with this rig. Had a few issues with updating the GPU drivers but it shouldn't be an issue anymore
Considering M17xR3 - Stability ok?
