I'm having weird fps drop spikes in Crysis 2 (not sure whether it's related to the 11.5 AMD drivers, but the AMD drivers gave me a huge performance boost relative to the 8.763 Dell drivers).

At first I thought it was the game loading the world's textures but I tried standing in one spot for a bit, everything's OK, solid fps and all then suddenly it dropped to 15 fps and a few seconds later, everything's fine again.

    M17x-R2 owner here.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Are your GPUs running hot? Sounds like it might be throttling.

They are running at about 75-90 on both cards. At peak, fan speed is around 650+ rpm.

Do you realize that your fan reading can't be so low?

Download HWinfo32.. and recheck your fan speed. If you are using gpu-z to get that reading, it is wrong.

Just as a matter of information our gpu fans runs at idle a little below 2000 rpm's. over 65 degrees they ramp up to 2500 or so, passed the 75 degrees mark they go up to aprox 3200rpm's and at 80 degrees they go up one more time at about 4000 rpm's.

    Also, install the 11.5 CAP

They came out the other day and (I believe) Crysis2 was one of the fixes.
