So I just picked up a Cooler Master NotePal U3 last night. I placed it on my narrow computer desk and positioned the M17x on top.

My concern is that there is no front "lip" to prevent the laptop from sliding forward. It only has a flat non-skid rubber portion on the front. The laptop is raised and tilted quite a bit on the back. I've attached a pic (sorry for pic quality) to illustrate.

Should I be concerned that my M17x might accidentally slip or is this much ado about nothing? Anyone else use the Cooler Master U3 and had their M17x slip?

Hmm I'm using the same NotePal U3 and it does tend to slide a little when the backside is too elevated. But it should be no problem when you use it like normal. So if you just put the NotePal on your desk and the m17x on top, there is no risk. I always leave it on there at night and everytime I woke up it was still on top ;)

just put a chair infront of it. The back of the chair will stop it if it slips... but if it hasn't slipped, the odds are it probably won't

I was looking at these, but was confused by the different sizes. What fits better the 19 inch version or the 17 inch?

Good point, Slickdude80! I did leave it overnight on the U3 and did leave a chair in front of it just in case. hehe When I woke up this morning, it was still on the U3 cooler.

Bigtonyman - I don't have experience with the 19" version but the 17" version (U3) fits the M17x R3 just perfectly. I also got the 14" version (U1) for my M11x and it fits perfectly as well! :)
