    Isn't that a Virtual cd/dvd-rom type of program. Like magic disk or daemon?
    Do you have such a program installed? If so uninstall it,reboot clean your registry and install other version.

    I'm 100% sure that it is. Try Magic Disc(small, free, never had a problem)

    So did it uninstall and got rid of the "controller" ?
