Hi all, was going to go through and reset my laptop to factory specs to get rid of some junk that has been accumulating on it over the past few years (it's always nice to just start fresh once in a while). However when I went into AlienRecovery it said the factory image was missing or corrupt. I spoke with support and they ended up sending me the windows and resource disk but when I was reading the installation instructions it said that if I do a manual install I will not be able to use AlienRecovery in the future. If possible I'd like to keep it to be able to just redo it from the laptop and not have to worry about discs and use the recovery partition in the future if possible. However once that recovery partition is corrupted is there any way to get it back or do I just delete that partition and go off of discs if I want to restore? I still see the partition on the drive and it still has data in it. Can you reload the factory image or remake one?

Have you tried running startup repair through the OS disc?
You should always make a system image as soon as you get an Alienware. You can do this through AlienRespawn. All you need are two discs or a 8GB USB 3.0 flash drive. -
Have not yet, was going to try it but then saw the "alienrecovery gone" bit on the dell site.
