So I got my 8th Corsair last week and just put it in today. My machine seemed to be a little slower on boot and my pings went up some in gaming in cod2. I booted into digs and ran extended test and the memory failed. Sending it back to newegg...
Think I'll order the hyper even though my r2 won't really use it.
I noticed poking around in the bios a lot of the options in OC'ing etc u
Is all grebes out. Because I do not have an extreme CPU?

Yes, Overclocking options are only available with an extreme CPU.
However, there's a new modified bios floating around that allows you to unlock those overclocking features with a non extreme CPU. -

Thanks! I am not very interested in overclocking if its not available natively. I do not want to void my warranty. Im enjoying this machine very much and hope to make it last for a while. This is the first AW laptop I have owned I like and am keeping. I have owned two before this 6-7 years ago and was not happy and had issue out of the box and sent them back for refunds. I haven't looked at them again until recently when deciding I don't want to use my Macbook Pro to game anymore.

fair enough, just wanted to let you know the option exists.
Cheers! -
