When I try installing the new nvidia beta drivers (for BF3 beta) i get the message "The graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware" when trying to install. I have a Geforce 260 GTX in an Alienware M17x (1). Any ideas whats going on?

    Thanks

Same setup, same problem. M17x-R1, GTX260m. Anyone got modded .INFs floating around for this?

Let me know if you figure out anything. I can't find anything and not being able to play BF3 is driving me crazy.

Try this site: Laptop2go I tried the 280.38 modded inf for my 460m, and it still didn't work but it might work for the 260m idk. Just click on the green inf modified link and download it. Then replace the old inf with this one and it should install :)

Do I need to download the driver from their site, or does the modified inf work for the nvidia driver?

Welp.... I don't really run it well enough to justify buying it. Kind of depressing really......
