    I have an ES 2960XM. I don't know if it's on it's way out or what. When I bench at stock multi's of 37,36,34,34 I get better scores than when i crank it up to 45x4. 40x4 is the point when if I go over that the performance drops way off.I have repasted with MX4 and checked that the cpu was seated properly and tightned the screws 2 turns at a time. Any help?

    At the higher speeds you might be exceeding the max on your power supply. Keep in mind that processor eats 100 watts alone, and depending on GPU and settings that will eat 100-150 watts. You only have 240 watts total.

    In your bios change PriPlane to 900 (core current limit to 125A on Intel XTU) and Flex to 5. You have to keep your temps in check otherwise it'll throttle

    I'm on 4.5Ghz atm and it's pretty damn fast... 5.555 seconds for 32M test in wPrime 1.55

    Check this out:

    Your problem is probably either insufficient TDP to support the higher multipliers and/or insufficient current (Amps). Try setting TDP (Long Duration Power Limit and Short Term Power Limit) to 85W and Package Current Limit to 110A (i.e., set Primary Plane to 880). That should give you enough headroom to play at the top end. Also keep an eye on temps.

    @GeoCake -- Nice. What kind of cooling are you using? What CPU temps are you seeing in Vantage at 42X or above?

    Nope, 110 like Revelator said or 125.. 110 is enough for 44x

    Stock, I would sit outside but it's not 0C or minus yet :( And pretty much low 90s (says TS, but Hwinfo says very high 80s) at 44x

    45x run I got a BSOD on the second vantage cpu test ;-;

    Don't mess with that just yet. It's somewhere in performance options..

    110A is enough for 44x
