What settings in the bios are using? If you have the grey ones, you don't have to change anything in the bios, just have everything as Auto and Default profile.

I don't have Hyperx,I have Corsair they are supposed to be P&P
-
So you plugged them in and you didn't touch anything? What ram did your laptop come with originally?

4Gb Hynix 1600 (Dell Stock Ram) Hey Widezu69 do you happen to know the part # for a 580M heatsink. I bought one from a guy on eBay but the heatspreader is square and the 580M die is rectangular. It won't cover the entire surface of the GPU die

The Revelator Notebook Prophet
I faced exactly the same problem with the heat sink which came with my 580M; I think it was for a 460M, but not certain. Anyway, I peeled off all of the black thermal material on the face of the HS, so that the entire surface is exposed copper. Worked great. GPU temps dropped significantly. Others have followed the same course with equal success.

First question, have you removed the old ram?
Next, all the copper contacts on the GPU heatsink are the same size, regardless of version. Could you upload an image of the heatsink so I know whether you have the correct version. -
I don't think the Corsair are plug and play.. You might need to select a profile in the bios

I selected "1867" in the Bios and it still showing up as 1600 in CPU-Z. Hey Thanks Revelator I'll try that
-
I meant XMP Profile 1/2.
Leave everything else default. Are you on A08 unlocked bios as well?
Should be. -
Yes i'm using A08 unlocked Bios
Ok I selected profile 1 and that did the trick. Thanks GeoCake. Should I set it on Auto or leave it at 1867? Guess it's not P&P.Attached Files:

All you need is the XMP Profile 1, it tells the bios what to run your memory at, you can leave everything else on auto/default.
I'm temped to get some Corsair Vengeance.. -

I'm in the UK!
Amazon is selling them for ~ £70 (2x4GB) and I've heard they can be flashed to CL9. Plus I've seen no issues with them running at 1866 on the R3.
Just out of curiosity: why did newegg stop selling them?
