    Cracked screen and can't switch to external monitor!

    Hey, I have an original MX17 and I got my screen smashed 2 weeks after my accidental warranty expired. My problem is that I have no idea what I need to do to use a external monitor with it. With almost every laptop I've ever owned, you plug it up and then press the FN-(whatever F key has the monitor symbol on it) and BAM you see bios and everything. This isn't happening, I've even pulled the CMOS battery to reset the BIOS in hopes it was just a confusion with the on-board and dedicated video.

    I do know that the laptop still runs fine because i can get to a VERY messy Win7 logon screen.

    OSD(on screen display, the function manager in the M17x) may not be working if the Function monitor switch is not operating. The function keys will only operate when OSD is installed correctly.

    You tried Fn + F6 & it still does not work?

    What connection are you using on the M17x-R1 to to connect to the monitor?
