    Hi all,

I posted here a while ago and I thought everything was more or less solved, but problems seem to be back and running.

I'll try to be descriptive and as short as possible:

    My system:

    - M17xR2 - 720QM - Dual 5870 - 8GBRAM - Raid0 300GB HD.

    Problems:

    - I can't enable Crossfire setting under the Catalyst tool. I check the button, press "Apply" and it ignores me. No error, no warning. Just ignore.
    - Every performance test (FurMark, 3DMark) is horrible. Like 10 FPS... if lucky.
    - A week ago I could play for example WoW at 50 FPS in Orgrimmar. Now I barely get 10.
    - Under the new graphical options there, it shows "your graphic card is not Shader 3.0 capable" and everything is at "Low". Cant move the slide bar to up the graphics (tough at "Low" I'm at 10 FPS :p).
    - I can't reinstall ATI drivers. Whenever I try it, i get BSOD. I have tried disabling the cards and then rebooting (BSOD). Removing the drivers (BSOD). Trying another driver (BSOD). Booting another OS (Hiren's Boot for example - surprise! BSOD!). If I simply reinstall them from the R<whatevernumber>.exe, there is no change in performance.

What I have done to try to solve this:

    - Msconfig and rebooting with everything off, to see if I had installed something. No result, tough it solved me the problem two weeks ago, seems it was AVG which was slowing everything. Now I have NOTHING running :p.
    - Everything from the Dell Update driver page is installed. Flashed VBios, latest drivers...
    - No stealthmode. Really :). I have a little program downloaded somewhere from this forum which shows I'm at full performance.
    - Full performance in CC :p.
    - Factory defaults in Catalyst. Other configs as well - no results.
    - I have looked very angry to the screen for 10 minutes - no results, either.

I'm beginning to get desperate, even when it was functioning "normal", the performance wasn't as good as expected from such an expensive machine, sincerely 11k max in 3DMark wasn't... impressive. Now that I look back, I will gladly stay at 11k of course :p.

Can i use the AlienRespawn without a BSOD?

Please help, I don't know what step should I take now. Calling Dell is difficult for me for now.

Thank you very much for reading.

Sounds like 1 or both GPU's might have gone bad. Dell can help you get replacements.

    Solved. Well, this was unexpected...

Some days ago I changed the mouse settings to leave shadow, because I read that it solved a corruption cursor problem when in two screens (it did). Wasn't playing anything at the time so I didnt notice, but it has caused me every problem I have listed. Now CrossfireX works ok, everything goes ok.

Thanks for help, hope this will help someone who gets in the same situation as me (I'm stupid I know :p).

EDIT: Not solved. SIGH. Worked for... 5 minutes, and again the same issues. Rebooted, tried everything, mouse this time is off... and NOTHING. Im getting really pissed.

EDIT#2: Solved itself by putting a game in full screen mode and back. This works whenever it feels to. This machine is crappy :p.
