Hi all,
Just wanted to check something. I have 2820QM with single AMD Radeon 6970m card. I want to make sure my Crysis FPS is upto scratch. Looking at benchmarks around the net it’s very unclear as to what most of the FPS achieved is run on. No benchmarks ever seem to mention whether Crysis was run on DX10 or DX9, or whether is was run on a patched version or not.
First off, does v sync have an impact? Is it usually on by default on crysis? On my rig, unpatched version of Crysis at 1920 by 1080 and all settings on high (no AA) I get FPS of around 30 -55 running on DX9. This is at the approach to the very first campsite & subsequent firefight right at the game’s beginning. Now if I run same settings on DX10, the FPS is more like 25 – 50 (24 at lowest) as I go into the very first campsite and start exchanging fire.
Does this sound normal?
3d mark 06 score is generally about 19600 - 19800 ish
thanks
Wayne

Crysis on the 6970m at 900p on high was a major let down for me.
Everyone said it runs great, but that is not true. It manages to pull a measly 45-30 fps...... definitely not enjoyable like that.
Your FPS is normal.
