    Hello,

I've noticed a problem with my new alienware m17x r4. I know this is kind of a too cosmetical issue but those door "tabs" that prevent dust from entering the dvd drive are pretty open. they don't fit perfectly and that may turn out to be an issue i believe. Does anybody know if that belongs to the drive itself or the chassis of the laptop. And how could I replace it. Thanks

Those felt-like things? Those are attached to the chassis. The optical drive has no bezel or slot door cover of its own. As for replacing them...ya got me. I thinks those things are glued or plastic welded to the chassis. In any event, you'd have to take apart half your machine to remove the optical drive just to get to them. It might be more work than it's worth.

PS: dust gets in no matter what...the fans will always blow it into the depths of your laptop.
