The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    i searched and didn't really see anyone having a fix for this or the really the same exact problem

    My M17X-R2 can not read any burnt media. it will read "official" DVD's or CD's, but nothing else. it's not only discs that i make, but discs from anyone.

    did a re-install of windows, and had to install it via a usb flash drive since the machine would not read my windows discs or recovery discs i burnt.
