    Dear m17xR3 fellows,

I love to watch movies with my m17x r3. In order to increase video quality and battery usage time I would like to use dxva (hardware acceleration for videos). With the 6970m it is working perfectly(amd has just added some nice features in 11.6), cpu usage while playing blu ray (powerdvd) or 1080p trailers (wmp-classic) is as expected around 3-4%. It should also work with the Intel 3000HD as it also comes with dxva support, but the videos does not even start. Do you encounter the same problem?

Which program are you using in that case?

By the way, DXVA will not increase video quality nor battery life.
(video quality is consistent across all compliant video decoders)

Battery life/power usage was not improved, at least on my laptop with a Core 2 Duo processor and previous generation Intel GMA 4500MHD (which also supports DXVA).

by enabling DXVA on a ATI 2xxx or greater, video decoding will be done by the UVD. The UVD can handle denoising, de-interlacing and so on. With the 6xxx series you can also accelerate divx videos. Also whatever framerate the video is, there will be no stuttering with dxva on 6xxx (cat11.6)anymore. U see, the UVD of the ati 6xxx is quite usefull. But this is just off topic.

I also wanna use dxva while using the intel integrated graphics card. I dont want to change everytime the settings in my video decoders when switching to integrated graphic card and back..
