So I figured out why my new M17x R3 wont boot....because it has a bad processor!! What are the chances of that? I guess anything is possible. It use to start up to a white screen and make 8 beeps. Had the motherboard, GPU, GPU heatsink and fan replaced and it still did it. Tried to turn it on today and now it doesnt even even turn the scrren on and makes 5 beeps which means "process failure." Maybe they should have sent a new processor too, then everything would have been new again haha.

Does anyone know anyone who had this problem? What are the failure rates for the new Sandy Bridge Processors???

processor failure in general is rare (for intel at least), unless you unloaded some massive electrostatic discharge on the pin side of the CPU

Remedy, they are. I just take it out and turn it on everyday hoping it will just turn on haha. My replacement is in the production stage. My replacement is coming with the wrong processor so i have to call them when i get it delivered to have in home service come swap the processor. Should be a 10 mins job.
