Attempting to resolve the flickering issues with many games, among them Witcher 2 and Fallout New Vegas I attempted an uninstall of the existing drivers and CAP's with ATI Installer in "add remove programes-change" and apparently deleted CCC too.

I ran Ccleaner in safe mode after that.

When I tried to install 11.6 I am prompted to download the file online? And when this completes clicking on "install" in the window does nothing.

So, where and how do I put CCC back on my PC?

Thanks in advance, this is extremely aggravating.

I really just would like to play the games, I really do not enjoy having to learn C+ programming to get them to work, I am losing my affection for PC gaming very rapidly. If there is not some sort of standardization among the various manufacturers of components and PC's to address this problem of over-complexity in all of its various manifestations, PC gaming is dead.

    This is RIDICULOUS.

I should not have to put this much effort into playing a game without flickering, stuttering, etc etc.

If anyone ever has this problem just use System Restore to a date before you began to tinker with it.

I still cant get the latest ATI driver 11.6 to do anything. It says it isnt compatible with my system, a 64 bit update not being compatible with a 64 bit system. Pulling my hair out.

try using another driver, or manually update the driver in device manager.
