I Well Dell giveth and taketh away lol.
Original specs on replacement 4 gb mem ,280 sli and t9800 processor.

    was given 6gb mem 500 hd 4870 in crossfire and i7 720 with 1440 900 screen .

complained because resolution was lower .They said they would not upgrade
gpu and would only give me the upgraded screen

    I now have 4gb mem, 320 with 4870 in crossfire with i7 820 and 1900 1220
    rgb led screen

Is the new system better than the first one should i have keep quite or was it a good thing to complain and should I now take what I was given and run.
Also how much if any faster will i-7 4870 xt combo be vs t9800 and 280 sli be.

Want the 5870 card in cross fire but dont want to keep rejecting system afard they will tell me to stop bugging them .

4870 xfire is better than the 280 sli, pretty sure the i7 720 is also better than the t9800. Don't be too greedy now.

Dell's replacement policy is "equal or better" for EACH component. They can't add one place and remove from another. Your original screen is 1920x1200, so they must provide you with a screen that's equal or better. I used this to go from a P8700 to a T9600 processor (my original processor's cache was 6mb).

Well, Dell upgraded me from an XPS 1645 to the Alienware m17x-r2 with CF 5870s, so I was more than happy to let them downgrade me from my original BD-ROM to just DVD+-R/W. Now if they'll just let us update the video drivers, I'd be pretty damn satisfied.

Cool didn't realize you had a 1730 as well. Keep in mind that replacement policy is from the original unit purchased for "equal/better". So it might be very tough to get the 5870's. Good luck, though!
