One up here as well...
You need BIOS A04 for this to display correctly in conjuction with the newest HWINFO and CPUZ.
I have two R3's at the moment. The first said B2 until I did the above, then it displayed B3.
The replacement I recieved recently came out of box with BIOS A04, and when checked with HWINFO and CPUZ, the chipset stepping is B3.
I wouldn't worry about it, as all M17x R3's output to 3 different SATA devices. Therefore there is no way Dell can reuse the old B2 motherboards, without replacing the chipset (actual chip) itself with a B3 chipset, and then use as re-furbs for warrenty (most likely).
