    Hey every1.

I have several game issues, (flickering and the such) with dell drivers.

They tell me solution is disabling catalyst ai?

Dosent this mean no XF essentially?

How can I prove to them this is disabling cf basicly?

you can't except by monitoring your temps and proving you have only 1 card working

They are telling me that a level 3 tech says both cards work with AI off? :S

I tried showing them the other card does not go up in heat but they say thats because cooling is great? :S

Catalyst ai has no effect on crossfire. If you are seeing one card not heating up maybe that game does not use xfire or you dont have the proper profiles installed.

Well, the tech support rep telling you this is one thing, however posting here asking us is another. Why not supply some more info so we can respond.

    1. System specs?
    2. System BIOS version?
    3. Games showing 'flickering and such'? Try to be specific if possible (what area of the game, conditions, etc.).
    4. You mention the dell driver, confirm it is the current one for your card which is available on the dell support site.

With the above info, I am positive you'll receive a more detail response from the forum. ;)

Thanks Bat boy! The thing is, it is possible to fix it through work arounds (which I found on this site from helpfull people like u guys :) )But, I want dell to realise there are problems with drivers, and that they need to release new ones.

Paying for a great machine such as this, although I like the preformace I want the support. Im within the Canadian 30 day return period, and I will possibly return.

Don't return it just yet. There have been reports that the latest 10.7 ATi reference drivers solve a lot of the Crossfire flickering problems. There's no official Dell release of the drivers yet, but Brian (a.k.a erawneila) has promised that updated drivers will be released shortly.

You may want to wait until the last 5 days or so of your return period to see if the drivers come out before that. If they do and they fix your problem, you've still got a great system. If the drivers take too long, or they don't fix the issue, you'll still be within the return period.

If that doesn't help then it's your choice.

Flickering is fixed with Catalyst 10.7. Dell is releasing a beta shortly so I'd hold on to the system. You will only end up reordering it again.

Yes I will most likely be reordering I guess this system has been VERY good except for the issues that will be fixed.

If the drivers do come in, I will re order and (hopefully) the 740 will be in, so I won't really regret anything! Anyways thanks every1
