So I called Dell up a few days ago to check this and that.

After giving all my details the guy looks at my warranty status and goes "I see here you have next day on site support and Technical support".. "but you have no 'phone warranty support' here".

The guy did help me in the end.. but end of the call tried charging me like $50 or $100 or wtv it was to get phone support.

How do they expect me to contact them.. through telephathy?

I bought a 3 year warranty.. and that comes 'without' phone warranty? Thats ridiculous...

I agree with you it does not make any sense

How can you get them to diagnose and fix a problem without calling them first.

Look at the warranty terms that came with your purchase, I suspect you should see something about repairs done after remote diagnostics which includes telephone and remote access to your laptop

That's nuts. The only options we have on the AU Dell site are 1, 2 or 3 Years Premier Service.

This is all I've selected with every previous Dell system and never had an issue with 'Phone Support'.

Actually I bought it in USA and then got Joker to transfer the warranty to my name.

BUT I did that with the M15x as well.. and with only 1 year warranty.. and that one had no problem.. so something is dubious here.

Yeah. I noticed there are many more support offerings on the US site. I always grab the 3-year warranty and then extend for another 2 years toward the end.

I've had each system almost completely rebuilt by the time the 5 years is up, so it pays for itself. :D

It's always in-home repair AFTER remote diagnosis(phone). What a clueless rep.

The rep you talked to should be fired.

How the hell are you supposed to communicate and trouble shoot then?

    Pathetic.

Here in Romania, you don't get phone nor remote connection help. You just call, tell them whats not working and they send you hell loads of parts which they think might fix your issue. :)

Oh wowsers ey    :D Nice!
Man I would love that to happen over here ahahahah LOL. They won't even allow me to touch mine here lol. I would love to just ring up and get the parts sent out and do everything myself. It would sure make life more easier for me lol. I think I need new fans again soon lol but I don't want the guy to open up my notebook cause I know they will be really rough.

    Cheers. :)

You don't do it yourself, they sent a tech to you. But I just wanted to say that there is no diagnostics before.

Yeh I sometimes have to go through diagnostics other times I don't. It just depends who I get on the phone at the time.

    Cheers. :)

The rep I spoke to clearly had NO idea what I was talking about, because he didn't help me fix my problem. I'm pretty much done calling Dell. (Besides.. it's not like I CAN choose an option to NOT have phone support.. so its kind of retarded)
