    Hi guys.

Whenever I close the lid of my M17x I hear the same Windows sound made when unplugging a USB device. When I open the lid I hear the sound made when plugging in a USB device. I've never encountered this on other laptops.

    Anybody know why?

    Thanx for looking.

do you have any USB's plugged in? if you do it could be the system shutting down and turning them off and turning them on again when you open it up.

    Nope.

I see you have an M17x R2. Mine is an R3.

does your system go to sleep when you close the lid? if so trying click on sleep in your start menu and not shut down and see if it still does it or maybe you will catch what shutting off.

Think it's just the display being 'disconnected'. Both my R3 and this one do it. Might have something to do with the sound/power scheme you have selected as well...

    My computer doesn't sleep.

I'd assumed it was the display too. Or maybe it's the graphics card being disconnected to save power?
