Hi I received my Alienware m17x r4 but
i did not find that small TOSLINK optical output converter (i donno wat its called)
its that small thing that is used to get the optical out
    but i didnt get it

also i didnt get the hat or those stickers

i really dont care abt the hat and the stickers but i seriously need the SPDIF converter thingy

did they forget to put it or it doesnt even come with the R4 ?

and in the end if Dell dont wanna give me one
will these work with the SPDIF out ?

Yes i think you are right and I just realized that too. According from unboxing vids on youtube on the R4 you do NOT get the hat, sticker and spdif adapter, which sucks even though i do not use them.

So they did away with the leather bound manual, the hat, the stickers?? Do they still include the mouse pad or did they do away with that?

I know these are really minor things that most people don't care about, but it's those little things that make it an Alienware vs a Dell (well ok, it's more then that, but I'm talking about the experience not the hardware).

Anyone else find this a bit concerning?

m17x R2 had the leather bound manual, that then moved on to the M18x and taken off from the m17x R3 but included a mouse pad, hat, sticker and spdif adapter. I believe the R4 still has the mouse pad.

Hi Aceleo, I know that it might be stunning that we no longer ship our computers with the SPDIF converter, perhaps we can at least give you very accurate information on which one to get, please send us an e-mail to [email protected] and we will get back to you as soon as possible. #IWork4AW
