Hi, When I opened my laptop, I saw 2 LVDS Connectors, so I guess 1 is directly connected to the GPU(460m) for 3d and the other one is for the IGP+GPU combo. I tried connecting the display to the other LVDS non 3d socket , but the monitor didnt start, even the backlight didnt come on.So are there any other jumpers to make the 120hz screen work at 60hz??
I desperately want the IGP for battery life .I dont mind loosing the 3d too.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but as it stands it's the BIOS currently holding that back as well as a few other hardware limitations. You can't enable the IGP on a system with a 120hz panel, no way around it at all. The panel runs natively at 120hz and the IGP can only drive a 60hz panel so it's completely disabled by the BIOS. If you want the IGP you have to ditch the 120hz panel unfortunately. The only way to get IGP/battery life is to go with either 60hz/460m/Opti-mess, 6970/60hz/manual switch, or 6870/60hz/manual switch.

But all 120hz display must be able to run at 60hz too. So if i connect the 3d display to the other LVDS connecter on the mobo, the display must run at 60hz. right??As the BIOS post screen ,Windows booting, etc run at 60hz or lower and not at 120hz.

No wrong, all I can tell you is people have tried just about everything to try to get the 120hz screen to work in different ways and nothing but the 460m+120hz+no IGP has worked so far. It may theoretically work but Dell has coded something in the BIOS to make it only work that way. I think part of the problem is even though the BOOT screens don't run at a high refresh rate the screen itself is running at 120hz as that is what it runs native meaning it can't boot with the IGP enabled. I tried tthe 120hz+6970m option and it doesn't work, as soon as the IGP is enabled due to detecting the GPU it refuses to even boot.
