My battery has been recently gone into "critical" condition. Replacing it is NOT an option, and I am perfectly content to plug in the power cord every time I use the laptop; it's hardly portable anyway. However, I work in a relatively quiet office and every time I start up the computer those loud beeps warning of the critical battery are very disruptive. Disabling the "beep" driver in Device Manager (Windows 7) does nothing, I just heard the beeps upon startup and the beep driver is still listed as being disabled. As far as I can tell, there are no helpful options in BIOS either. My next course of action will be to crack this thing open and see if I can remove the speaker responsible. But I figured I'd try asking for help first. Thanks for your feedback!

Have you tried just removing the battery and running without it? If your not ever using it anyways then it shouldn't make that much if a difference. I wouldn't think that would be a warning they would let you disable as it could be a safety thing. Try removing the battery and turning the computer on, at the very least with no battery there is nothing for it to beep about unless it does the same when a battery isn't present.

Which Alienware model are you using? And which 'beep driver' are you referring to? There is an option to disable adapter warnings (when too low voltage PSU is connected) in all Dell/Alienware BIOS. I have a feeling this might disable the battery beep as well. I am not able to test this since my battery is still in ok shape (26% lost capacity).

This seems like could fix the issue. Give it a try and let us know. As suggested above by mariussx, disabling the adapter warning could help, but I'm 99% sure that simply taking out the battery should get things straight.
