    Hello,

I just received my Alienware 17x-R3 with 256 samsung ssd couple of days ago.
I decided to upgrade the OS from Windows Home to Windows Entreprise.
After the upgrade restart I started to get the Disk Read Error. Press CTRL-ALT-DEL to restart. My question is do I need to do anything special to the ssd before a windows install? I am very new to ssd so any help would be great appreciated.
I can't get into any windows installation, it just displays the error.

    Help please.

Thanks I have actually tried that thread.
Do I have to initialize or update the firmware on the ssd?
Also, my laptop came with bios a09 but it currently has a08, I used the resources cd by mistake. Could that be the problem?

On the bios, keep it at A08. The A09 is just another downgrade from Dell.

I'm not sure about samsung ssd's, but I know owners of crucial, ocz, and intel have had to update the firmware first. You may want to look into that.
