Alright, so I've had my Alienware M17x for a month or two now and have only had this problem once. I know I've got a disk in there because I just played a game last night and didn't take the disk out. I've wanted to install another program but I've pressed the eject button and it won't do anything. Then I went to My Computer to try and eject it through that and it says there's nothing in the drive. I've tried rebooting the laptop, taking the battery out and putting it back in and just plain waiting but nothing has worked yet. I can figure out most things with a little explanation but I need a bit of help finding things. (I even needed help figuring out what to do in BIOS... Which from what I did nothing really worked there either.) Any help for a semi-literate troubleshooting person?
Never mind! Fixed it.

Are you 100% sure there's a CD inside ? if you try to put another one in do you feel that there's CD there?
If you do, try to reboot, and while the system is at the AW head screen push the Eject button, it should work.
If that fails, try a power drain :
Remove battery and disconnect the power adapter.
With those removed press and hold the alienhead power button for 20 seconds. put the battery and power adapter back in, turn on and try to press the eject button again.
Hope it helps.
