If i am correct if you select the 3D screen the integrated GPU will be disabled because it can only output 60hz, This will cause more battery drain.

So if you are going for "portable" / longer battery life i would choice the FHD, If you are going for optimal gaming experience then 120hz/3D would be nice.

Is the main difference 120Hz vs 60Hz? Or does the image look a whole lot better on the 120Hz? The reason for this computer is gaming but battery life would be nice too. I really wouldn't do any 3D glasses gaming.

How about you keep your build to one thread instead of making a new thread for each option you have a question about

Does it matter? Maybe someone else reading down the road is only interested in display options. Is there a forum rule I missed about build option posting? How about you offer advice about the subject of this post?

The 120Hz screen is twice as good as the standard 1080p screen. But as mentioned above, it will cut battery life in half. You'll have to take your PSU wherever you go. You get an upgraded screen, no Optimus issues, and 3D glasses, all for $147. I think that's worth it.

For future reference: there have been at least two dozen others who have asked this very question. You should use the search function before making a thread. I'm willing to bet whatever other questions you may want to ask have already been answered, too. ;)

Valid point. And, I actually did do that after my post. It seems it's a matter of preference. Some people prefer the matte finish because it has virtually no glare or reflections while others prefer the much better image quality on the glossy 120Hz display.

    Update: I ordered the 120Hz. :D

i have had my m17 120hz for about 4 months now, and if i had my time again i would still choose the 120hz... simply stunning in every way. Yes the battery will drain a bit quicker but the performance for me outweigh the slightly less battery life...
