    Distortion while starting up Windows 7

    Hey everyone, having a slight issue with my display during start up of Windows 7. Before it gets to the user sign in area, there's a slight distortion on the display. The distortion consists of several lines across the display, happens for only a second and it's similar to the distortion you'd get from those old crt televisions. Once it gets to the user accounts and password prompt, it's gone. Also, it doesn't happen every time. I restarted the machine close to 5 times yesterday and it happened once.

    I have the 12.8 drivers installed for the gpu. I haven't tried downgrading it to the 12.7 drivers I was using before the format. Could it possibly be a driver issue? Only happens during the start up (also a problem with the stuttering start up sound for Windows but I just disabled windows sound). I can't remember it happening with the 12.7 drivers.

    Any ideas?

    4 me one white line flashes for split second right after i press power button.Its constant. Never had several lines or distortion per se. If you are having several it may point to GPU driver, GPU, cable issue.

    The stuttering at windows startup is because of SoundBlaster ReconID. I had queried and trouble that issue here b4.

    And EUREKA!!..I hav not noticed if it still happens since i installed windows 8 72 hours ago. Will let u know soon.
