Hey NBR, this is my first forum post sadly...

Anyway, i just purchased a m17x today and just took 4 hours updating all of the windows 7 drivers through the automatic update. Now Im trying to manually update the gtx 460m driver in the computer but I somehow cant? Whenever i run dxdiag all it says for display is the integrated 3000 gpu. Do i have a fried gpu? How can i check? I do have the lates A12 bios if that helps. Thanks..

Ive tried everything but nothing seems to work.. i dont even think i have the right c:\nvidia folder anymore.. if someone could upload theres for me?

But back to the main problem... more info on the problem: i cant even access nvidia control panel because it says my laptop is not connected to a nvidia gpu. but when i go to device manager under display adapter it shows my intel graphics and my 460m.. help? ive tried going into bios and switching the main screen from something like "sg" to "peg" but that made my screen resolution go down and in device manager my 460m appeared as video controller (vga)

its probably just a driver issue. just uninstall all existing drivers for the hd 3000 and the 460M, download official Dell drivers, then download and install the newest nvidia drivers over the old dell ones.

It's definitely just a driver issue. Try using the DELL ones, if you want to go higher try the latest WHQL drivers on PEG.

Seems that a driver reinstall fixed it - got the rep :)
