    Hello.

    Im curious to know if the Alienware M17x R3 features a switchable GPU option if it is equipped with a HD 6970m?

    By this I mean does it have the ability to manually switch to the integrated GPU for better battery life?

    I know that the GTX 580m model comes with optimus and the HD 6990m can switch to the integrated card manually.

    Yes it does. If you equip your laptop with any AMD card, it will have manual switching.
