Does M17x-R3 use BIOS or UEFI? By now, newer computer should be equipped with UEFI, as a replacement of BIOS which is of older technology. I am wondering whether Dell Alienware has joined the latest development yet.
If it is BIOS, it should look like this:

If it is UEFI, it should look like this:

Thank you so much for the answer.

It just uses plain old BIOS

Hehe I have a P67A-GD65 desktop mobo and its graphical "oofy" is wonky at best. Sure its got graphics and mouse support, but all is for naught when everything requires using multiple clicks to register; I'm still navigating it through the keyboard despite this "advancement".
I'm sure there are other enhancements oofy brings, but the M17x R3 isn't self-conscious about its ugly BIOS. You'll enjoy the computer just fine. -

Thank you so much, T2050. +1.
When will Dell Alienware implement UEFI? Perhaps in the rumored M18x? -
I would suspect it is not far away. Although the M17x R3 does a nice job with its BIOS and works rather well for what it is.
The only other notebook I have used with UEFI was a HP ProBook 13.3" with an older gen i3 processor, was ok to use.
