Hi guys, a few days i reported my fans would go up and down. After some investigation i found using GPU-Z, one of the GPU's would go from 150 to 500 and down while browsing randomly, which can be anoying.
Today on photoshop and mudbox i knotice when ever i clicked to draw that the fan would pick up and gpu shows one card goes from 150-500. Soon as i release the mouse it would stop! Temps are fine, so i dont know whats wrong! Also to note, when i turn off turbo the effects dont happen. Ive tried power management to balance when turbo is on.

If anyone can tell me whats wrong or if this is normal, heres some screenys which i dont know will help but take a look please.

I don't see any problem there. Cards up-down-clock themselves (PowerPlay feature) according to load. You see it only on one card (primary) simply because the application is not utilizing CF. That's all.

Yes, i agree, but the fan kicks on with each kick, and then down again. gets really anoying when browsing net or using photoshop. I tend to disable turbo, and the gpu spikes are there obvious but the fan issues not.

Also i have aproblem i just knoticed one of my cards isnt downclocking. Its staying at 300 core clock and 400 memory clock! think thats whats causing it?
also rebooting isnt helping me down clock it o.0 =/

What video driver version do you have? You might need to update/re-install those.
Also, might want to update the BIOS to A05.

ones from dells site, and a5 came installed, i reflashed it when i recieved it =<
now since this morning, primary card is going up and down constant from 300 core clock, and the 2nd 5870. has 0 load but staying at 300

*edit* disabling crossfire, and rebooting fixed it, but now the primary card is fine, but 2nd gpu locks once i open an application, and cant seem to get crossfire working (no icon showing on games)
called ta tech alienware friend hes going to send me the right GPU tomorrow so hopefully that fixes things!
