Ive been wanting to buy an m17x, and saw this ad and am wondering if it seems like a scam.
Alienware M17x R2 Intel Core i7 Dual ATI HD5870 Blu-ray
Person's reply when i asked about it
Hi,
The last price is $850. First of all I want to tell you that I am
not selling this Laptop for profit or due a lack of money. All I can
say is that some recent events in my life made me change my perception
of certain things, things that Ive considered important in the past.
I will donate all money to charity after i sell this Laptop. I am
currently on a trip for UNICEF in UK. The Laptop is in an excellent
condition, no scratches it is new (sealed in box). I dont want to
offend you but the Laptop is priced for a fast sale so please if you
intend to apply for a loan or financing do not reply. The transaction
will be made through eBay company for the safety of both. Ive already
included the Laptop into eBay Item Purchase Protection, so I will sell
only through this.
If you want to buy the Laptop, and you agree with my terms please
reply so I can give you a detailed description of the eBay Item
Purchase Protection.
Waiting for your reply.

Um think about this 1 thing alone, how does he have supposed pictures on craigslist if it's "sealed in the box" as that message says?

scam for sure..
because I posted those.. -
If it sounds too good to be true go with your first gut instinct
Save or pony up and buy it directly from dell. If you do purchase things like this please do it via paypal. -
Yea, it is definatley a scam. I was looking for a car and people were using similar tactics in selling 2010 model vehicles. I would't bother. And as they say "If it sounds too good to be true it probably is."

As a rule of thumb I ALWAYS go by...
Next time you come across something like this, ask... No don't ask... Tell yourself this, if you have to think if it is a scam... Stay the he'll away from it!!!! -
