    I got my M17x3 early last month and all worked well for about an hour!! To cut a long story short I now have a new SSD and mother board fitted and all is good. The only slight issue I now have is that when the OS was reloaded and the drivers etc downloaded by the Dell Tech. he typed in that I had a Radeon 6970 rather than the 6990 and it shows up as such in the AlienAutopsy etc.

    Two questions:

    Does this matter?

    How can I correct it?

    Grateful for any thoughts.

    TIA

    Bob

    Hi, if i understand you correctly;
    He downloaded a 6970 driver for your 6990 card?

    If so, then it could give you an slight-performance drop.. I would suggest you to uninstall this driver, and then reinstall with the proper driver for your card (6990?, find it on Global Provider of Innovative Graphics, Processors and Media Solutions | AMD)
    Although, the most likely event is that he downloaded a package that fits for all 6000-series cards, so it wouldn't affect your system at all..But, just to be sure, go ahead and find the newest driver for your system with that link i provided :)
