Guys, the driver and software installations on the R4 are just getting insane

i am really hoping you can help me out, because if i call up Dell, they are going to tell me to format and reinstall, which i know wont work cuz' i spent the greater part of yesterday doing the same

    issues

    1) Widcomm software will not install no matter what, the latest version gives an error and shuts down and if i try to install/ uninstall it, it can find its source, if i try to install a previous version it says you have a newer version installed, then it quits

    2) i installed the latest 13.4 WHQL's from AMD, however when i boot into IGP mode it gives me either a MMLoad.exe/ or a switch.exe error..... (i am currently in dGPU mode will try the intel mode again to further take a screenshot of this error), there are no

Apart from that as usual the system is running all updates as of 12/06/13, SFC /SCANNOW reports nil errors

To successfully install the 13.4 WHQL's when I still had my 6970M in my m17x r3, I had to disable the Intel graphics in BIOS. Do you have to do an equivalent step on the r4?

The drivers per installed in the13.4 package from AMD, also the drivers were installed having the 7970M being active

The r4 has a similar switch to go between the igp and dgpu

Have you tried doing a clean install of the Dell drivers, then installing the newest drivers over them? I've found this to be the best method for the R3. Before this, I would have to do the HWiNFO mod to fix my screen dim issues. But using the original Dell drivers, I no longer have to. It appears that I am one step closer to having Enduro working on my R3, but when I switch from iGPU to the 7970m, I'll get a black screen. I have it set up to run off the 7970m at all times.

Why does having an SSD not allow you to go back?

Well amongst the optimisations one has to do to properly enjoy a SSD performance without sacrificing the life of the drive, I had to disable the restore function on the drive ( I believe it reduces the wear and tear), and since I cannot image and restore the drive (again issues of performance and "life" of the drive) I can only uninstall and CClean the drivers in 7970M mode and then reinstall the drivers

I would recommend doing this. Also following this guide could help.

Hi guys any help with the latest official package from Dell,

    Same set of errors

Tried AMD's own native uninstall utility
    Tried driver cleaner pro

Cannot use CCC or windows as I start getting "explorer" errors

SFC/ scannow is reporting nil errors

Hi there! I also had similar issues when switching between GPUs but my issue was in dGPU mode rather than iGPU. What I did to fix it was really just install the drivers atop the ones I had just installed. I had installed 13.6 beta2 in iGPU mode and then reinstalled them again without deleting the the drivers from the previous installation in dGPU mode.

    well as promised the errors

    error.jpg error 2.jpg error 3.jpg error 4.jpg

    well there you go
the following errors are experienced in
updating the native drivers (first gen 7970M drivers) to 13.4 Whql's
updating the drivers to the latest pack available on Dell's website the 9.xxxx drivers

    Oh FYI Porras

the option that you mention to install drivers results in a blue screen, i have had to repair/ reinstall my windows 7 twice, despite the fact the SFC /scannow command shows nill errors

Did you try what I said? After looking at the pics you posted I can say I was having the same issues and reinstalling drivers on top of the already installed drivers fixed it for me...If you cannot get the drivers to work with 13.6 beta2 I suggest you then install the 13.15 driver posted in this subforum. Do not remove the previously installed drivers, just install on top of them.

What I did was installed the Dell drivers (had to do a clean install of everything because the drivers were effed up out of box) then installed the latest drivers over them because Windows kept on reinstalling them after I uninstalled them. Also, I did this with Enduro turned off.
