Dual Intel 330 SSD installed in M17XR3 and both running in SATA 2 at 3Gb/s. Looking for the best way to obtain SATA 3 speeds !

Hey guys, I just know that more then a few m17xr3 owners have had to deal with this issue! I already gave up my raid 0 set up and now I can't get sata 3 on port 0 or port 1. I really do not want to flash back to bios A08. I would appreciate any advice on the best solution to this problem. I would at least want 6Gb/s on my boot SSD. Here my most current CrystalDiskmark score!

there is only one sata 3 port. the other is sata 2. there is an unlocked latest bios that will make sata behave like a08

    Downloads

all credit there goes to svl7

Thanks for the reply. I am not sure what an unlocked bios is or where to get it or how risky they are. At this point I will be glad to get sata 3 on just one port for my boot ssd!

I just wish intel would stop this nonsense of only 2 SATA III ports. :/

Well, I did the following: Flashed A08 and the RTS did show 6Gb/s. However benchmark scores improved marginally. So I set bios to AHCI and reinstalled. Windows, all drivers, and all updates. Scores improved but still not outstanding. I guess 180 GB just to small to get high benchmark scores. Will wait for prices to come down a bit more and grab a Samsung 840 pro 256gbs.

They did! :) The ivy bridge chipset on the R4 has 6 available. dell chose to use 4 of them for the fast-usb ports (R3 only has 2) and the remaining 2 on the drive bays. this is why the mSata port is only sata 2.
