Hello,
Today when I was testing my new rig with Dirt 2 demo, ultra settings, I got
Gpu 0: die peak temp 81C, memory peak temp 81C
Gpu 1: die peak temp 78C, memory peak temp 79C
Are theese temps harmful for the graphics cards?
My system i brand new (not even 2 days old yet), and has been in use for max five hours since I unboxed it, so dust is not an issue.
Thanks in advance.

No, they're fine. When you start hitting the high 90s and 100+ then you can start to worry.
Even though I bet AMD and Dell say they're rated to well above 100, the thermostatic damage caused by the constant temperature ramping up/down can't be good (just ask all of us old M1730 owners).

as long as the cards never get into the 90's you are fine 100% for sure even the 90's ur probably 95% fine but under 90 ur 100% fine

I dislike graphic card runs loud and high temp when gaming (sad)
PS : I used headset to filter those noise. Is there anyway playing games without gpu noise? -
iphantom you can try using a notebook cooling stand to force cool air into the laptop. Those fans in the coolers are generally much less noisy then the gpu fans and since you have more cold air being forced into the notebook the gpu fans should be able to ramp down to much lower noise levels which so average out to lower noise.

If you're talking about the GPU fans, there's not much you can do. You can lengthen the amount of time it takes the fans to kick into high speed by using the retention mod, etc. You could lower the graphics settings in whatever game you're playing so that the GPUs don't get as hot. You bought a gaming laptop, with a 940XM to boot. It's going to get loud. -
That's the only reason why I have a desktop Water Cooling GPU, to avoid the noise of loud fans. I generally only play RTS games on my m17x.
